Hey :) I brought my two hamsters about a week ago. during that week i provided them with two wheels (which came with the cage) both are plastic and fine. well anyway today i brought them a 4 1/2 silent spinner wheel. anyway a few mins ago i watched one running on the new silent spinner and thought it looked a little small. On the box it came in, it said it was for dwarf hamsters. SO anyway is 4 1/2 too small for a dwarf hamster. P.s i have 2 campbells russian hamster. :) thanks for your help - adam
btw there about 6 weeks old :)

4 1/2 " is little small for Russian campbell hamsters, they should have at least 6" wheel.

I have a dwarf hamster, and she runs in a very small wheel. I really don’t think it matters-they love excersize in any form. =0)

41/2 is plenty big for your dwarf hamster i’m sure but if you do want to go up a little only go up a little because when you go too big they won’t run on it.

If you are feeling like the wheel you bought is just a bit too small, try looking at the next size up. Look around, and see if there’s a 5" or 5 1/2" wheel for larger hamsters. If need be, you can bump up to a 6" wheel, and that should be plenty big for a hamster. Good luck with your search.
