I guess my question is….*should* they? if the male is the Robo and the female is the Syrian? the reason I ask is because a friend of my sisters has the two in the same cage and the female may be pregnant. I’m just a little confused….

robos and syrian hamsters can’t breed together any more than rats and mice can breed together. Your sister’s friend should not be keeping two different breeds of hamster together, she is risking the life of one of them when they start to fight (which they eventually will)
Your friends sister must have asked this question earlier as I remember seeing this. No they should not be bred together. I’m not sure if they can but I wouldn’t try it or even try to put them in the same cage. Syrains do not like company, wheather they get on or not they really should not be housed together. I guess if she was pregnant your friends sister would be responsible for a new breed.
